@jwilson the kid who unlv added didn’t stick at NCAA d1 so pump the breaks big fella. The hack dropped to acha dII and the fact that unlv is running around telling everyone that they are going NCAA D1 is an absolutely a joke!

Easy there yourself champ, no one’s claiming he was a standout player. But he was an NCAA D1 player, even if it’s a year removed, and I think that’s a relatively big deal regardless.

As for the second part, Rutgers, Alabama, and a bunch of other schools are basically doing the same thing. Now if they’re promising that to prospects, without a plan, that’s messed up. However, in the interim it’s creating pretty good press for the ACHA, so I personally don’t have any issue with it. I know if I played or coached for UNLV with the Vegas Golden Knights coming to town with all that coverage, I’d be aligning myself with them every opportunity I had as well.

God, does everyone on here need to be an ■■■■■■■ all the time. Can’t imagine why hockey101 deteriorated and no one moved over here.

Do you really think if any of those schools move d1 they will truly keep their coaches? I mean come on! Asu is the exception. Rumors are he is a terrible coach anyway and will be on his way out.

Probably not, but I’m sure some coaches are delusional about it, and for others, whether or not their going to be kept on, the opportunity to move your team from ACHA to NCAA is a big accomplishment.

Hey guys, I am new to the forum and site. Have enjoyed reading so I figured I’d join in as I love chatting about the ACHA. Heard some news that relates to this post.

I heard that Braden Brown of Liberty decommitted from there. Not sure of why, though.

Good to know. I’ll put a note next to it. If they ever post about it, or he “commits” somewhere else let me know.

Obviously, at this level all commitments are tentative, just thought this would be interesting for people to see!

What is up with the Philadelphia school getting small program high school kids, while the other schools getting USPHL? Two many D1 schools in the area?

These kids could roster most D2/D3 schools, but won’t put a huge impact at the D1 level

@Benders19 It could be a number of things (coaching staff, team reputation, college experience, financial). No disrespect to Drexel’s program, but the sticker price of $69K a year (although most likely subsidized) to live on campus can’t help recruiting.

Massive amount of updates this week, including Oakland, seemingly attempting to start an entire new team with the number of recruits they are bringing in.
