To all the hockey people out there…a truly sad note. Sam Kelly of IUP and CHE fame has passed away.
He battled health issues for the past few years but managed to keep up the fight until now. Sam was a great guy , a true hockey guy who built leagues and programs into staples in the college club hockey world… He was in this thing for all the right reasons and will be truly missed by many many people.

I have known Sam since I was a Pa. high school coach more than 20 years ago. He was a good and honest man that I met while he coached IUP. I sent a few Council Rock Grads his way and everyone of them liked playing there and liked Sam. I ran into Sam at the local supermarket where his son was working about 10 years ago. He moved into my part of town. We talked and agreed to have tea now that we lived close to each other. We never had that tea and I am saddened to hear of Sam’s passing. We lost a good man today. I’ll miss you Sam, I’ll miss you!
